Google Will Restrict the Use of Google Maps API

The bad news comes from Google for website developers and apps that use Google Maps API. Beginning in 2012, the developers must pay to Google when the products / services made ​​their use more than 25,000 loads per day map Google Map.

Google announced this news via a blog post on Wednesday (11/26/2011), who mentions them (Google) will conduct tests restrictions on the use application programming interface (API) from 1 October.

"The announcement of this restriction must be done so that Google can continue to offer free Google Map API to most of the developers for the years ahead," said Thor Mitchell, product manager of Google Maps API in the blog post.

Users or developers who use more than 25,000 folders per day or 2500 folder if using a map with the "styled", will not be immediately discontinued its service by Google, but they simply reduce the amount of map used. Users must pay if exceed limit the use or purchase a license for the Google Maps API Premier.

To help users find the use of maps, Google will add to the console API Google Maps API. Excess use of maps can later be diliat and paid within the console. Google set the cost of four dollars for every 25,000 load maps use the standard version. This calculation will be done on a daily basis and can be paid monthly.

Google will start enforcing the excess usage rate in early 2012. Google will send a notification to all users of the Google Maps API, 30 days before starting to charge for this service.
